The corridor connects the Brahmagiri Wildlife Sanctuary of Karna- taka with Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary of Kerala through the forests of the Wayanad North Forest Division further leading to Nagarahole National Park and Bandipur National Park. It is one of the 28 elephant corridors identified in South India that are essential for the move- ment of the large pachyderms between protected areas. The Brah- magiri-Nilgiri-Eastern Ghats sub-population is estimated to host over 6500 elephants.
