 4 Oct 2021  7 Oct 2021 Springscapes Centre for Land & Water Resource Management (CLWRM) organized
a Series of seminar: The first lecture (4 Oct) was delivered by Dr. VSP Sinha, HOD and Professor, Department of Natural Resources, TERI School of Advanced Studies, New Delhi; which was mostly focused on the importance of forest hydrology for springshed management in Indian
Himalayan Region. The second day (5 Oct ) lecture was focused on protocol for rejuvenation of
spring in Garhwal, delivered by Er. H.P. Uniyal, Technical Advisor-AIGWES project and former CGM – Uttarakhand Jal Sansthan. The next webinar on this series was conducted on 6 Oct
and was specifically revolved around Spring Hydrology – Pioneering Account of High Resolution Monitoring and Science Insights in the IHR. This lecture was delivred by Dr. Sumit Sen, Associate Professor, Department
of Hydrology, IIT Roorkee, Uttarakhand. The series ended with (7 Oct) the lecture on Springshed Management to Long
Term Socio-ecological and Environmental Sustainability; delivered by Er. Vanita Pandey, Assistant Professor, Department of Agricultural Engineering, North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology (NERIST)
Nirjuli, Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh. The series of webinar was attended by researchers, academicians, scientists across the Himalaya. The spring hydrology, spring monitoring, data analysis, rejuvenation protocol,implementation strategies, community participation, importance of science based and data driven spring revival techniques are some of the major highlights that were discussed and elaborated in the webinar series

Week with the Theme “To Avoid, Reduce and Eliminate use of Littered Single Use Plastic”
 The Himachal Regional Centre(HRC) of the Institute organized 7 Day Iconic Week:
Day 1 (4 Oct 2021): Swacchta Pledge and “Awareness Programme to Reduce Single Use Plastic” at the Regional Centre Day 2(5 Oct 2021): Cleanness drive in “Faculty and Administrative Building of the HRC wherein all areas of the building have been cleaned by dusting in office cabins, picking up the garbage like single use plastic, glass, rubber, etc. Total 20 no’s of HRC staff have been participated in this cleanness drive. Day 3 (6 Oct 2021): Cleanness drive in “Arboretum, Nursery and Rural Technology Centre” of the HRC wherein all paths and other
areas have been cleaned by picking up the garbage like single use plastic, thermocol, glass, rubber,
etc. Total 18 no’s of HRC staff have been participated in this cleanness drive. Day 4 (7 Oct 2021): Cleanness
drive at the bank of Mohal Khad/Water Channel which is very adjacent to the centre wherein

The North-East Regional Centre of the Institute as a part of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan 2.0 and
Bharat ka Amrit  Mahotsav, carried out a cleanliness drive and awareness campaign at
Dera Natung Government College (DNGC) Itanagar.
The awareness campaign began
with the message “Avoid the Use of Single Use Plastics” with Students of DN College. The students of the college voluntarily took part
in the event and promised to stop using single use plastics and
also make their community aware to stop using the same.

celebrated Wildlife Week under the Bharat Amrit Mahotsava Govt. Inter College Jyoli , Almora (6 Oct) and Govt. Inter College Hawalbagh, Almora (7 Oct 2021) with the teachers and students
Various activities like drawing competition, Essay competition,
and lectures for sensitizing
students towards wildlife conservation were organized.
