World Environment Day : 5 June, 2019
India has formulated and launched the National Clean Air Programme (NCAP). This is a long term time bound national level strategy and tackle the increasing pollution problem across the country. The objective of NCAP is comprehensive plan for prevention, control and abatement of air pollution besides augmenting the air quality monitoring network. The tentative national level target is reduction of PM2.5 and PM10 concentration by 20% – 30% by 2024.
- Prepare Audio-Video Creatives and make use of all mediums to spread awareness on Air Pollution. Creatives made by MoEFCC could also be used. These would be available on the Ministry’s website.
- Undertake debates, workshops, discussions on related topics.
- Involve the youth and children in activities of their interest like drawingcompetitions, poetry, short audioNideo making, marathon, cyclothon, etc.
