Realizing the importance of environmental health, the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change constituted a Committee on Environmental Health. As a follow-up of the recommendations of the Committee on Environment and Health, the Ministry established an Environmental Health Cell to address the environmental health issues in the country. The Cell has brought out the Vision Statement on Environmental Health, which would go a long way in internalizing the environmental health issues in setting up of environmental standards and evolving measures and action programmes for the protection of public health against environmental pollution.
