P. 8
While concluding his address, the Hon’ble Prime Minister said that the Ministry of Environment
is not just a regulatory body but also a great medium for the economic empowerment of the
people and for creating new means of employment. Pointing out the learning opportunities in
Kevadiya, Ekta Nagar, the Prime Minister remarked that solutions to issues like the simultaneous
development of ecology and economy, strengthening of the environment and creation of new
employment opportunities, bio-diversity being a medium to increase eco-tourism, and how the
wealth of the forest goes up with the wealth of our tribal brothers and sisters can be addressed
here.
Finally, the Hon’ble Prime Minister emphasized the need for the Ministry of Environment,
Forest, and Climate Change to act not only as a regulator but also as a facilitator in the economic
empowerment of the nation, by creating new opportunities in the form of green jobs. Hon’ble
Prime Minister hopes that Ekta Nagar Declaration will become an important milestone in a new
vision for synergy between environmental conservation and economic development, for Amrit
Kaal.
